Both the “Main House” and “Cabbin” at Mountain Home B&B are open for guests! Everyone is welcome at Mountain Home!
The Cabbin is a small brick building that looks like a cottage now, but still as logs in the walls. It is set up with 4 twin beds upstairs and 2 full-sized futons downstairs, a shared bathroom at the head of the stairs, and a small kitchen on the first floor. It is generally used by hikers and other travelers as shared space, but can be rented out in its entirety as well. We are just 120 steps east of the AT off Route 522 near Front Royal, VA and have hiker-friendly rates. Scott “Possible” Jenkins hiked the AT as a SoBo in 2012, and Lisa supported his adventure, so we understand what thru hikers need. Look for us in the AT Guidebooks. It’s best to contact us ahead of your visit (especially for weekend stays) at 540-692-6198, via e-mail at MountainHomeAT@gmail.com, or by Facebook messenger. Drop-ins are welcome; we always do our best to accommodate folks whenever possible.
The Main House has 3 private bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Rooms are simply but beautifully appointed with plush rugs and decorative fireplaces. Annie’s Room and the Gardners Room each have a full-sized poster bed and a day bed with trundle, as well as historic, built in closets with lovely faux-bois doors. Rebecca’s Parlor, on the first floor, is handicap accessible and has a queen sized cabinet bed and private, accessible bathroom with ADA compliant vanity and toilet and roll-in shower. In addition to the lovely tile in the bathroom, historic touches include the stately fireplace, very high ceilings, antique furniture, and even a vintage Edison hand-crank phonograph.
