The Hygrade Inn

Built in 1880, the home has a storied past spanning several owners, most notable of whom was Bernard Erskine. Mr. Erskine was a founder of Sylvania (originally Hygrade Sylvania). Sylvania was known across the globe and it all began right here in Emporium. The home has undergone a complete thoughtful renovation, providing a fresh and satisfying overnight experience, while maintaining the property’s historic architectural detail.

The Hygrade Inn provides breakfast vouchers that can be used at several restaurants in our community. We welcome you to enjoy the experience of Emporium, Cameron County and the surrounding area. Hiking and biking on the West Creek Recreational Trail, canoeing and kayaking the branches of the Susquehanna River or George B.Stevenson Dam, golfing at the Emporium Country Club, Elk viewing and fall foliage are just a sampling of things to do here in our small piece of PA paradise.
