Description
You’ll enjoy your relaxing ferry ride into Ocracoke Island where we look forward to introducing you to our Village, where your comfort is our pleasure. Stretch out and unwind, and leave “the world” behind. The Cove’s tastefully furnished suites and rooms with their spacious furnished balconies offer a special setting for your vacation, small wedding party, honeymoon, anniversary, birthday or simply being here.
Start the day with our scrumptious breakfast, then spend hours enjoying Ocracoke’s legendary beach (Dr. Beach’s #1 pick for 2007, #4 in 2016 and #3 in 2017), OBX Voice “Best of the Beach” for 2013 and fourth among the world’s top 12 beaches by AARP, 2015), visit the Lighthouse and explore the village’s shops, old lanes and homes, many of which are built with salvaged shipwreck material. Wander thru the nearby Springer’s Point Maritime Preserve, just a few yards down the road from The Cove – there’s even a mini-beach! Here is Teach’s Hole, Blackbeard’s favorite anchorage and near the site of his demise.
Another day rent a kayak and explore the sound and marshes, sign on a charter boat for fishing in The Gulf or boat over to Portsmouth Island and wander thru the old, no longer inhabited village. Drop over to the Anchorage Marina in the afternoon and watch the deep sea fishing boats come in and unload – it’s an experience! Or simply do nothing. You’ll love your time on the Outer Banks!
Following our complimentary evening wine and goodie reception, dine leisurely in one of Ocracoke’s fine restaurants, then stroll around “downtown” or return to The Cove and stretch out to enjoy the fabulous sunset at our Outer Banks bed and breakfast.
