Description
Located in the Smoky Mountain town of Andrews, North Carolina, Cozad Cover House offers two charming lodging options. The two story romantic Studio has a kitchen and upstairs bedroom and living area. The Cottage has two bedrooms with full kitchen and living area. Both offer views of the of the manicured estate grounds and distant Snowbird Mountains. Spread a blanket under one of the massive oaks and imagine how life was in the early 1900s when the estate was constructed.
The Cozad-Cover House, the main building of the estate property, was built circa 1905. It is an imposing two-and-half story gable-roof frame home which effectively combines traditional and modern elements. The home was built for/by the Cozad family who owned a substantial tract in Andrews early in the twentieth century. Developer and builder, Cozad, erected several large gracious homes in the area. In 1918 The estate was sold to Samuel Cover of F. P. Cover & Sons Tannery. It remained in the Cover family until the death of Frances Cover in 1999.
