Description
“Originally built and operated as a “Cooker House” The Wellington House has been a resting spot for countless travelers for over the last 100 years. The Wellington served those who could not afford to dine in the high class establishments, it opened its doors and offered shelter those who instead served in them The personal care employees, the waitstaff, the butlers, the cabbies, they all found refuge from their daily toils in The Wellington’s halls.
Back in the day, each room had its own one pot stove, hence the term, “Cooker House”. Tenants of The Wellington could prepare their meals at the end of the day without the pressure of feeding a crowd. They could eat what they would like, as they could afford it.
