Description
Liberty House Bed & Breakfast opened to guests in 1998. A splendid example of Victorian Italianate architecture, Liberty House provides comfortable accommodations in three beautifully appointed guest rooms, spacious double parlor, and wrap-around veranda.
The original house was built in the 1840’s on a site occupied as early as 1812 by Blackman’s Blacksmith Shop. In the 1870’s, the Baptist Church Society purchased the house to serve as the its Parsonage. In 1879, Mr. Van Deuzer of the West Shore Railroad acquired the house and transformed it into the architectural gem it is today, complete with cupola, expansive veranda and gingerbread trim.
