Description
Peace, tranquility, and exceptional hospitality are some of the words that have been used to describe The Bluff Bed and Breakfast. Nestled on a sea cliff overlooking beautiful Lake Ontario, The Bluff attracts vacationers from around the region. Henderson Harbor, NY, considered to be one of gateways to the Thousand Islands is uniquely located a brief distance from many activities and attractions, including lighthouse tours, wineries, water sports. A visit to Ontario, Canada is a short drive from The Bluff.
Built in the 1880s by H.W. Millard, the resort area known as Paradise Park was a favorite getaway for business men and their families from cities such as Syracuse, New York, and others wanting to escape the hectic pace of city life. Paradise Park had several cottages, docks including a steam-boat dock and Paradise Park Inn. The Inn was a three-story hotel that offered shaded walks and modern amenities and was considered to be the center of the resort.
In the 1900s, the third story was removed and the Inn was converted to a residential cottage. It remained a private residence for a number of years.
The current owner, Paul Bryant, purchased the property in the late 1980s as a getaway for his family. The beauty and tranquility of the cottage made it a favorite of friends, family, and the neighbors surrounding the cottage. In the early 2000s, Mr. Bryant returned the cottage to its original calling a place of escape, rest and relaxation.
