Description
The Old Duck Inn B&B is an historic 1840 farmhouse with property bounding the Clyde River in south-eastern Wayne County, New York. Stately 200+ year-old trees along the river still beckon visitors today. Along with the river and easy access to the Erie Barge Canal, this country setting includes woods, ponds and farmland with wildlife galore. As you walk the peaceful trails and lanes of this 100-acre property, you may encounter over 150 species of birds, along with all sorts of amphibians, reptiles (no poisonous snakes!) and mammals. Relax with a cup of coffee and a book on the front porch, or sit on the patio surrounded by beautiful herb and flower gardens designed to attract birds and butterflies.
The Old Duck Inn B&B offers accommodations, homemade country breakfasts, nature walks, a place to canoe or kayak, and easy access to local attractions such as the Finger Lakes Wine Trails and Waterloo Prime Outlets. In addition, the property lies within the 30,000 acre Montezuma Wetlands Complex comprised of state, federal and private lands managed for wildlife and outdoor recreation. The Montezuma Audubon Center is just 15 minutes away in Savannah, NY. Bicyclists find easy access from the Erie Canal Bike Trail, which currently runs right past our place.
