Description
Built in the 1800s, this Victorian house once served as home to two sea captains, Captain Chase and Captain Elliot, and their families, until the early 1900s. Beautifully maintained and restored over the years, the house is now an Upscale, Downeast Inn. Rooms at the Inn are comfortable and welcoming and include a private bath. A made-to-order breakfast is served in the dining area overlooking the beautiful Machias River and the Downeast Sunrise Trail, where the resident bald eagles captivate guests.
Each of the well-appointed guest rooms is smoke free. All rooms have free WiFi, bottled water, wine glasses and corkscrew, a generous linen allotment, Basic Earth Botanicals toiletries, and welcome cookies! Guests are welcome to use the sitting room and game room (with library) in the Main House and of course, join us for dinner at Vue or a cocktail in the Vue Club Room.
