Description
The Corner House was built in 1911 by the Soper family. The original hardwood floors and the beautiful mantles make relaxing in the Victorian elegance like a dream.
The Sopers remained in the house until 1948 when the Robinson family bought the house and turned the upstairs into two apartments.
In the late 1990’s, an extensive remodeling took place which added additional bathrooms. The siding was stripped to the original wood and repainted the “Shaker Red” color it is today. See photo gallery of the main house.
After the remodeling, in May of 2000, Karen Pedigo, the new owner, reopened the house as a bed and breakfast. Since the reopening, the house has been host to travelers from all 50 states and territories and over 27 countries around the world.
Karen, not only offers a delightful and restful lodging, but she also gives the guests tips of where to eat and shop and gives directions to nearby attractions, such as the local wineries. Also within walking distance is the historic downtown area offering antique shops.
As far as attractions Karen suggests guests to visit Waveland and other historic homes nearby. She can also direct you to the numerous horse farms around Lexington. Links to Area Attractions.
