Description
We are a 15 room boutique BnB located in the heart of La Jolla Village in San Diego County. Each guest room is appointed with different amenities and in their own style and design. Listed as Historical Site 179 on the San Diego Registry, our Inn has a rich historical past that allows guests to explore and become lost in its stories. It was originally built as a residence for George Kautz family in 1913. The original Gardens were designed by famed horticulturist Kate Sessions, also a well known San Diego figure, who was responsible for Balboa Park and the Scripps Family Gardens. Both these individuals are honored as names of our guest rooms. It also served as the home to the “March King,” John Philip Sousa’s family in the 1920s. It is one of the premier romantic inns in San Diego. Celebrating over 100 years of Architectural History, the bed and breakfast Inn is considered one of the finest examples of Irving Gill’s 1913 “Cubist Style” Architecture.
