Description
Located in McCloud Ca, this charming Victorian holds quite a bit of town history. Built in 1903 by the McCloud Lumber Company, and served as company headquarters, the Town Bank and the Local Telephone Switchboard. This Victorian has served many purposes for the Town of McCloud over the years. Still visible are the original saw blades from the Mill hanging in the lobby, the deposit counter from the bank, multiple walk in vaults. One in particular still bears the original door from Diebold Safe and Lock Co era early 1900’s and installed from Parcells Safe Company at the time located in SF. The entire building has been constructed from dimensional locally milled lumber.
After being guests at the Inn a few times over the years, we realized how fond we became of the building and the small-town charm. McCloud holds a special memory for Dan as it’s where his Grandfather Ray would take him, his brother and cousin for many summers. Weeks spent at Cattlecamp, Fowlers and the swimming hole, endless hours of fishing, swimming and visiting the three falls.
Julie has enjoyed cooking and baking for others as long as she can remember. Since married, their home has been the gathering location for many family parties and holidays. Her hobby has driven her to become a part time custom baker.
In 1989 Dan and Julie met in apprentiship school, dated a few years and were married in 1995. Spending summer vacations with their two children In McCloud and Lake Siskiyou has inspired them to pursue their dreams. Pooling their talents together and looking forward to what the future holds with the purchase of this beautiful Inn you can be certain of two things. The charm and character of this Victorian building will be brought back to life with Dan’s construction skills, abilities and attention to detail. While staying at the Inn you’ll feel pampered with the home cooked meals and fresh baked desserts.
