Description
Come and enjoy the ambiance and southern hospitality in this turn-of-the-century house. The Rose House Inn, one of the oldest homes in Fayette, was constructed in 1898. This one-and-one half story, wood frame building is a good local example of Queen Anne style architecture and a landmark within the small town of Fayette.
Fayette is located in northwest Alabama about 40 miles north of Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama. Its design elements include a wraparound porch, a hexagonal tower with a bell-shaped roof, and imbricated woodwork in some of its gables. The house suffered some unsympathetic alterations over the years, but in 1994 was sensitively restored. This Queen Anne cottage retains a high degree of architectural integrity and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Including Rose Cottage, ten guest rooms are available for lodging, each tastefully decorated with period antiques. Each room is furnished with a television and telephone, with most having private baths. Two phone lines are provided for the use of guests.
The common areas include a large living, dining, and kitchen area. A TV with a VCR is located in this area. The common area may be used for meetings, as a gathering place for guests, for meals, or for just relaxing. A continental breakfast with generous portions is available for each guest.Address
