James Manning House Bed & Breakfast

Nestled atop the rolling hills of Bethany, in the heart of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, stands the 1819 brick Federal-style James Manning House. For two hundred years family and visitors have passed through the doors to seek comfort, friendship and nourishment.

Today the guests of the house find charming, eclectic and antique furnishings along with modern amenities for comfort. Enjoy conversation, read a book, take a stroll in the gardens, all before a quiet retreat to your cozy, comfortable sleeping quarters. The area has much to offer in the northern lake region of the Pocono Mountains. We are a short three miles from Honesdale, PA with shopping and dining, and rich history roots, including the Stourbridge Line. The Delaware River, lakes, Prompton State Park, and skiing at Elk Mountain are just a few of the outdoor areas for activity and exploration. Festivals, art exhibits, music, museums and more appeal to tourists who return time and again to this attractive, scenic corner of Pennsylvania.
