Description
Housed in an Edwardian era building that is more than 115 years old, the OPI is a luxurious Hybrid Boutique Bed ‘n’ Breakfast that takes you back to a time when the American experience was more meaningful, and life was more indulgent. Built in 1904, only 48 months following the death of England’s Queen Victoria, the building exudes the Victorian influence popular at that time and is one of the three buildings that survived the fire of 1905.
OPI, a proud reminiscent of a bygone era, having transitioned through being the Arcadia Post Office, to Desoto County Health Department, to an Apparel Store, to an Attorney’s Office, to a Photography Studio, to a Florist Shop, and finally to a Boutique Hotel in 2008, still stands tall in its uniquely imbibed character amidst 370 historic homes next to the Tree of Knowledge and across from the Old Depot.
Still in functional display are many fine period-antiques, some more than 140 years old. From the very minute you step into the 50-foot-long Grand Lobby of the OPI, and onto the original flooring so beautifully restored, you will know you are in a very special place. And, during your stay here, we will make you feel very special too, guaranteed!
